What are Membrane Switches?

A membrane switch is a low-profile, flexible electrical switch used to activate and control electronic circuits. Built with multiple thin layers — including printed circuits, tactile or non-tactile keys, and graphic overlays — membrane switches are the interface between a user and a device.
